Looks like fun.

£140 a bit rich though no?
-
• #9207
jetpac - £140 is rich unless the buyer wants that exact model IMO.
If it is original as buyer says, then weinmann brakes, SHimano 600? cranks etc. are mid-+decent kit.
bottom bracket shell looks a bit suspect - whats up with the bit at the top-left? opinions?

Cheers P-rad. Yeah, couldn't quite get my head around that either, think it's just a crap photo. At the end of the day it's worth what someone will pay for it and without a decent description and postage, I think he's having a giraffe. Ah well. Back to the drawing board.

it may not be thaaaat rich if you can be sure of all the details.... but with the info given? it is.
Try and look up the frame number, components etc. to be better informed.
Bargain him down with information and even examples of market values.
Find out if the BB shell is damaged.
do something. -

He's not the most communicative of sellers, when I asked q's about spec etc, he said 'rides like it's worth £140'. I've had no luck verifying the frame number, and as far as I can tell they aren't original Holdsworth decals. Whatever the situation, it looks newish, 80's at a guess. I've been watching Holdsworths for a while on the bay, £50-£124 for wildly different bikes, I told him that, see what he says.

haaa. sorry for nagging / patronising!
-
• #9212
that stamp looks superficial and frankly amateur.... the kind u get on your bike as a kid when u postcode it at the cop shop. am i wrong ?
as a frame number i would expect it to be properly stamped...
-
• #9213
I think I'm probably best off out of it, Holdsworth frame no's according to my friend Google are usually 5 digits. Just wanted to check that I wasn't completely wrong, no patronisation (?) felt or taken!
British Engineering Dylan innit! Artisan to bits.

thats what im saying, maybe 27s will be more appropriate for that bike
cheers for those comments. i've passed them on, sure she'll appreciate them.
in the mean time i've seen this:

notice how this http://www.gumtree.com/london/48/33242848.html
is identical to this http://london.craigslist.co.uk/bik/961150817.html
who is selling these and where are they getting them from? (if they're not a thief)
and those bikes are not fashionable -

Sweet rides. Smooth even.

See what you did there.
I know they are the devils spunk on here, but surely they are ok-ish for students to fanny about on now and again?

no, they could easily get a cheap road bike (about 20-50 quid) that'd still last for quite a while than paying a lots more for a bike that will fall apart.

Everything falls apart. These a bit faster, but as long as they are not a total death trap, each to their own. A cheap and trendy enough looking run-a-round.

This smells funny... "Bought it for 200 pounds from the markets" eh?
16" wheels too - that must be one tiny frame.

£675 BIN and doesn't even state what frame it is - although it has a Supreme sticker so must be worth much more than that...
