Quite alot, but the total would be less than the normal price for a spinenergy.

Magic gears are more likely to have chain issues.. in my case a lack of chain tension on my ss caused chain slippage on hard take-offs a few times before I had the sense to add a tensioner. Some people run magic gears fine but it will depend on the gear, the chainstay length and the design of the dropouts..
get old and large sprokets/chain rings and squeeze them inbetween the top and bottom bit of the chain...

Remember it doesn't have an axle in it which I am sure will be hard to find.

Never seen them before, not sure how they compare to the RPM crankset that are priced simarly.... v cheap though so I guess you get what you pay for!
-
• #8240
Guess you're right. My other option was the one that Paul at Kiwi sells, the FSA-RPM one. There seems to be mixed feelings about that one...
-
• #8241
threads on the fsa rpm one are shite. i know its annoying but sugino 75
-
• #8242
Yes but Sugino 75's are waaay too expensive for my budget...
-
• #8243
yeh was way to expensive for my build, but everyone eventually upgrades stuff, i would have spent less if i had spent more outright. but i didn't have the funds either. just saying
-
• #8244
I know what you mean... Why spend £40 on a FSA/RPM and then possibly upgrade in the future, but my bike's a beater and although I'd like to get a nicer frame in the future I have to make do with what I have (very little money..)
Thanks for the advice though ;) -

Phantom gears usually don't work either since you have to get chainline and tension right for the size of sprocket you use.. it's a kludge. I'd rather use a bodge (deraillern tensioner ftw!).
For those spinergys, he won't ship..... how much do ya tink it would cost to send in a courier/postie to collect and ship home? any ideas? anyone here living stateside that could take delivery and pass on to the uk for me? pretty pleeeease :)
