I think this would make a great ultra budget gravel/touring/whatever thing with mini-Vs. Nice straight stays might make it a 650b candidate too.
£24 collected in Oxford at the moment
Note: hanger needs straightening apparently

Oh my, I must have it
-

It's rather good isn't it
-

I recently sold my old flying gate so obviously need a replacement.
Doesn't look like it has a seatpost though

Re seat post - That could be tricky to find

I've messaged, we'll see what they say

Did you get it?

I've a spare Shimano AX Aero B type. Not a perfect fit but with a well crafted shim it works...

No, someone beat me to the punch.
It's a real shame but I'd really want an air seatpost to go with it which could have been impossible to find or expensive

Thanks, I wish I had gone for it while I had the chance!

I've weighed it on my cheapo luggage scales and it weighs 13.98 kgs, not bad for such a strongly built aluminium bike. I'm sure you could shave another couple of pounds off it easy if you wanted to use it on the road, but it is set up for off road as it is and 27 gears really do help.
He's got another Trek with the same crazy seatpost setup... Is he the guy out of Bellville Rendezvous?

Welcome to my listing for a Hand Built in the USA Aluminium Trek 6500 ZX Real Quality Mountain Bike in Red and in Good Working Order and recently serviced. If you want a bike to go see the world on, this is is a good bet. It has seen India before now and has been in daily use for 8 years and is still going very strong, and better now that it has got new bits. It has apparently seen a Triathlon or was owned by a Triathlete too but I don't know the name of the guy who rode it, so it may or may not be famous, I don't know. I just think that it is a very, very good bike. I think it is suited for someone tall because of the 19.5" Frame. I can ride it as I am 5 foot 6 with the seat set as you see it on the lowest setting, but obviously, I can't touch both heels to the ground, so it is a bit of a problem for me, but boy, does it roll and stop well! The wheels when you spin them go on for the longest I have ever known and are very true as the brakes only need about 1/2 inch or less on the levers to stop you totally dead! This is just ace to go fast and far on but my legs are not quite long enough when stationary.
Mentalist.
