Haha yea, I've read that as well and laughed

those stays are impressive but seem unlikely to do anything besides making it much harder to get the wheel out

reynolds 708 !?

Someone's opinion on 708-
708 came in standard tube sizes, not oversize which has taken over the market. The tubes are thicker than the more common 531 but not quite as thick as the 531 Super Tourist tubeset. The main feature of the 708 tubeset is the addition of full length longitudinal ribs inside the tubes - similar to Columbus TSX only the ribs are not spiral.
The tubing looks like it was good for touring.

Anyone going for this? The fork is available on another auction.

It's lovely and makes no sense to sell the fork separately, however it would appear that the seller has dismantled the whole bike and is selling it in pieces.

Just translated the text and it must have damage to the chain stay but the word translated is 'rocker'
-
• #58968
Was „riss” translated to rock? I believe it means scratch. On the 2nd look this doesn’t quiet look like a scratch. I saw a similar damage in the past - was a crack - but on a Ti frame.
I think he hopes for some extra cash from shipping fee etc that’s why he’s selling fork separately.

I would buy this but for the expected high shipping charges!

Am I reading that description right that it's basically 56cm square but with a mad headtube? Having trouble picturing how that would look built up.
-
• #58971
Description says it has a cracked chainstay, quite a steep price for a cracked framed..

Mystery solved!
-
• #58974
Just weird! But when i checked the description again, it says 30cm steerer tube. And fork legs have almost similar lenght. And this points it is for 20 inch rims, i guess. Maybe for 24 inch, too. I can be wrong.

I think I need to see wheels on that to understand the geometry. Looks like someone wanted a lo-pro with a 650 upfront and then bottled it and put on a mahooosive headtube to counter that.
that's optimistic...
