Good question.. you can make an account here: https://www.marktplaats.nl/account/login.html?target=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.marktplaats.nl%2F
And start bidding, but Marktplaats is a bit fucked up.. there's no time limit so most of the time I just send a message to seller asking how much they want.

I really love the phrase Fietsen en Brommers.
Is a Brommer named onomatopoeically?
-
• #57764
Think the same thing every time I go on marketplaats.
-
• #57765
Somewhat, "brommen" is a verb which means making a humming / buzzing / droning sound. According to an etymological dictionary it's indeed an onomatopoeia. And a "brommer" is a thing that "broms".

Is a derny called a Baanbrommer?
-
• #57767
Nope, usually just derny as well. Officially called a "gangmaakmotor", though.
-
• #57768
It's important to go for a deep, throaty , Dutch g when pronouncing gangmaakmotor.

I used a mailforwarding company a couple of times, it worked amazingly well and surprisingly a lot cheaper than your typical courier (ups, fedex etc). Only thing is the tax obviously...something to work with the seller on.

Rourke with some decent modern parts and wheels for £250...
-
• #57775
Unfortunately not.. But I could check it out for you and send it if you want. Is that something you're interested in?
I'll have to look into the cost of shipping though, never sent a frame to the UK :)
