This ebay shop is a veritable gold mine;
http://stores.ebay.co.uk/Ruscombe-Cycles
They are selling off the old stock from the recently deceased Dave Russell's shop in Twyford. I'm off there now to plunder.
Typical, i'm desperate for a small frame and he won't post. Why do they do that,

I know this one has been posted. But to reiterate, this is one of the original Team USA funny bikes. These bikes where first used at the 83 Pan-American games before making major waves at the LA Olympics in 84. They where some of the most radical track funny bikes of their time - either 24" wheels front and rear or 650 rear, 24" front like this one. It would build into a completely mental bike. Of course, it probably wouldn't be the day bike. However, reports from the time suggested they where fairly predictable to ride. I would bid for it, but have just brought yet another frame. We need to see this built up.

Any opinions on this bike? Am a relative noob...
-
• #5442
is this worth a punt to see how i get on with fixed gear do you think?
anything wrong with it to mean that it would have attracted no bids?
I'm 6'3"ish - would this still be too big for me?
-
• #5443
that would be the perfect size for you, go for it, but be wary, i'm not convinced by the description.
-
• #5444
Cheers for the reply - does it sound stolen to you? Or just a bit strange?
Dating the frame back to the 50s and then putting a modern looking fork on it was a strange decision, maybe i'll give it a miss..
-
• #5446
it was the fact that that fork and the steerer are ahead,
that is all really + the font doesn't look right. -

A veritable bargain - someone will be disappointed I think, and it isn't going to be a potential bidder!
perhaps if you have the hots for shanaze reed then you might pay over the odds. cornelius??
