Don't know where to put this, but the deal of the day on iBood is the Garmin Edge 705 deluxe bundle for £189.95
Is this a good deal? This model seems to be discontinued now, also, slow postage..
Edit: Ok, not discontinued, I was on google.COM
Looks like quite a good deal with HRM and Cadence monitor included. -

I hate my 705. No idea if the 800 is better but the way it works most of the time I'd have more luck finding my way if I shoved it up my ass and tried to use it as a divining rod. Cuts out, freezes, wipes data, takes an age to load courses...

Ha ha. Do you know if anyone else has the same issues, or is it just a faulty unit/your magnetism?
-
• #41406
HRM and Cadence monitor are £45 each from garmin, so £100 for the GPS itself can't be bad, surely?!

pretty common issues with them, when it works well it's great but the time spent waiting for it to get its shit together or getting courses to load is infuriating sometimes. The 800 is supposed to be better. There's a couple of Garmin threads on here if you want to get more info, 185 is pretty good but I'd still be looking for a good deal on the 800 if I was re-buying.

Garmin 800 is miles better, easier to use and calculates routes at a decent rate
my 700 just infuriated me, i could cycle from Kew to Bermondsey and it would spend the entire time recalculating the route, never actually being of use
