Too much rubbish spoken here. Bearings are made in imperial and metric sizes by range and application. Go and pick up a Timken or SKF catalog.

Scam. Please report as I did.

You too Bobbyfett, leave that one alone! I'm planning to buy it for my brother as the Cougar is too big for him.
Now go to your eBay and hit the 'stop watching' button!
Did you win it?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bearing_(mechanical)#History ahem.
It's what I heard on radio 4 but from that article, Friedrich Fisher made the first repeatably produced consistently sized properly round ones in 1883 in Germany.

What I said is in the history bit of that article, with citation.
Imperial can gtfo.

This seller seem to have some decent stuff on auction rather than buy it now:

^ That's Dave Hinde.
He's based in my home town, and I've never had any negative experience with him, but if you search for 'Dave Hinde' in Google you may find one or two people who have.
-
• #38237
You seen the number of sales he's had? Anyone who does so many transactions is bound to have one or two duff ones where something goes wrong. That he's at 97.5% approval over 17k sales is incredible.
-
• #38238
Yeah, the majority of his transactions are problem free, as with most sellers.
But if you look on Bike Radar, his name is absolute muck:
It's not just about duff transactions, but threats and accusations afterwards.

Bearings were developed in Europe and have always been officially metric. The maths behind engineering is far easier if you use SI units. The leftover imperial components are related to tubing sizes, and everyone refers to them in metric anyway (eg 27.2mm posts).
I don't trust someone who refers to axle sizes in imperial to understand anything about component design beyond aesthetics.
What size is a quill stem?
What size is a pedal spindle on a adult bike? and on a childs bike?
What unit is used to describe the pitch of threads?
What sizes are all the common bearings used in loose ball hubs, bottom brackets, headsets and such?

Anyone want to outbid me by £1?
I don't particularly want it anymore, and £1 would make you the new high bidder.... -
