  • oh 'plug'!!! i'm an idiot.

  • Ha ha.... i just thought it sounded better than Peckham/brixton borders :)

It's estate agent talk for 'bigging up' an area ;)

I was just sat at home last night staring at it in a drunken haze and realised that a- it's far too small for me and b- i've run out of spare money and c- i've got three other bikes as it is!

  • BoBoB is there actually a border between East Dulwich and Camberwell? With passport control n everything?

There is - manned by the Salvation Army. ;)

  • Barmy Army more like it ;)

  • it will be when all you see is my back as i ride away from you :p

I will only see your back.. as I draft you all the way to the finish and take the sprint.

  • what you basically want is something like this then hippy? http://www.rc55.com/petay/DSCF0841.JPG

Yeah, cheap and cheerful crit bike.

  • i bet i'm faster than you.......

  • seen on the best of Craigslist: http://www.craigslist.org/about/best/sfo/608546617.html

The first paragraph of the ad begins:
*I'm selling a complete fixed gear. It is totally ready to ride and will probably kill you.

I pushed it into a bike shop recently to have the rear wheel trued. At the bottom of my receipt it read, 'My advice, get a new bike.' So, I am. And maybe you are too! He was reserved enough not to use the words 'death' or 'trap,' but I'm not!*

apparently he couldn't afford a proper track hub so he just used loctite on the freewheel. bought for $80, selling for $350. awesome.

  • haha, that's great!!!

  • i bet i'm faster than you.......

Me? Maybe. Shit loads of people are faster than me.
It ain't hard.. I'm a substance abusing fat cunt in an overworked desk job.

I thought you were gonna offer me a deal on that Trek. Fucksake!

  • I already have one, but might put in a bid for this

When is Alex's birthday, or perhaps we could have it mounted as trophy that could be awarded annually (The asm memorial prize)?

Jesus, my birthday is the 28th of april... the day after the auction finishes. Spooky!

  • Hi guys. Opinions on http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=190215216154&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT&ih=009 this as my first budget SS 'project'?

    What's it worth?

    Thanks

  • Anyone going to help me with my monkey ebay / pay pal question??

Saw this frame as well, looks ok...paint looks to be nice condition. But the rear drop-outs are pressed rather than forged (this means they're not as rigid really), although this will still be fine for a fixed.
Considering it's got £15 postage i definately wouldn't bid anywhere over £40, and that would be an absolute max! You can get frames just as good for no more than £50.

    Brilliant ! :D

  • Anyone going to help me with my monkey ebay / pay pal question??

I think its because ebay prefers Paypal usage as a payment option, so it is asking you to set up a paypal account to use whilst selling.
I'd clear your history and start the listing all over again, and if it still comes up, click through the link and see what happens (obviously not entering any private details until the lock thingy comes up at the bottom of the screen.

  • @ asm (and anyone else who might want it) I've decided that this
    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=120250176362
    should be your birthday present.
Don't go bidding, I don't want to spend too much

  • Right I've got to plug it:

Really needs to go, as I don't have the space/ money / time.
    fensom

Bought off forum recently, built up and it was immediately clear it was too big.
Would like it to go to a good home (it is also dead sexy in the flesh).

Sorry about the shameless plug, but needs must.

  • I'm skint... it's gotta go :(

    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=130216807680

    You're selling it!?! :-(

I want the difference if it goes for more than what you bought it off me for! ;-)

  • Yeah i know... i've decided to downsize and have a clearout of stuff that i really don't have time to finish.... it's a beautiful frame but... sob... i need the ... sob... money :(

In answer to your question.... NO! :P

  • crazy cranks plus interesting frame.

  • apparently a pair of those cranks sold for over $500.
Someone should buy the frame for the cranks alone.

Also the frame seems to have some dropouts I have never seen before.
    Anyone?

  • Roberto had some that sold for £80.

    TT bike dropouts

  • yeah, i had to examine them carefully, and I concur. don't recognise them.

i've read somewhere the cranks do nothing mechanically extra, but they are for sure a rarity. collect from somerrrrrrset though
