I've used all my weekly hammersnipe points on stuff I need.
(?!?!?!?!!!111one)At least wait to bid at the end of the auction even if you're doing it manually. In poker you don't reveal your cards before you bet do you? It just drives up the price.

the bidding has ended and it's not sold

It'll be £400 by the time its delivered. Nice bike, worth it, but not an outrageous bargain considering mixed groupset, and even the top-end Concorde frames of this era (SLX/TSX) rarely top £150 it seems.

Nice Colnago for sale in NL. I guess that the seller doesn't know what he's selling.
Someone from Ireland must be interested (colourwise). -

Bloody nice and cheap TVM team bike (Gazelle) on Marktplaats (NL)

^^ Do sellers on Marktplaats usually post to the UK? I've seen some bargains on there but haven't tried my luck yet. I get the impression they just want someone to pop round and pick up.

Fucking barg!
I've had a bike sent from Marktplaats, success rate for a whole bike is about 1 in 6 sellers. For smaller bits, frames downwards, most are fine with it, my only problem is the language and my lack of understanding, Peter V is pretty helpful. Very liberal lot the Dutch..

Cheers, I'll try it next time then.
Thankfully I think Dutch and English grammar is quite similar so google translate shouldn't be too embarrassing! -

I've had a few things off marktplaats, all of which have been fine.
It might sound arrogant to presume this, but most the sellers on there speak english anyway, and generally are (were) happy to post to england. One even offered to meet me at heathrow! -

Marktplaats
This Dutch auction site is some kind of swamp, but in our country it's the place to be for used and new stuff. Mainly for used stuff between consumers, but also new goods and from and to dealers/traders.
Ebay is very limited, all goes via Marktplaats.Shipping bikes: I think the guess of 1/6 is rather optimistic.
Posting components is usually no problem, since this is also the most popular way of exchanging goods from Dutch to Dutch people.
Even less people take Paypal. Almost everything via bank transfer. For us, that's always FOC within the EU.Note that on Markplaats there's no buyer or seller protection at all, so people need to have a lot of confidence in each other or willing to gamble a bit.
Best way is still pick up and pay cash.Always Dutch people here willing to help you out with bidding, communication, picking up, sending and payment.
As mentioned before, most Dutch are able to read and write some English. Not perfectly, but manageable. -
