  • that's that italian dude again innit.

Wonder how much he's asking for the trolley, bet its a colnago so it might be a lot.

  • The lugs are so high quality, they're invisible

  • dogsballs trials bike anyone?
    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=170201933587&indexURL=1&photoDisplayType=2#ebayphotohosting

    oooh, a trimble.

So collectable, the retrobike guys will be all over it ;)

  • fruitbat The lugs are so high quality, they're invisible

ha never spotted that. Lugged in the filet-brazed kinda way.

  • Guess the ebay thread is best for this - my ebay has gone all screwy recently with a new fangled search function that I hate without the normal search box near the top of the page. Not sure if it's happened to everyone or if it's do with moving to a new computer at work. Can anyone help me get it back?

This is what it looks like now

  • I guess it probably doesn't really look like that ^

  • Yeah - messed up the img tag. I can see it now so hopefully you can too.

  • I've had the same problem - but only at work. If I search at home I get the old results (and it works). If I search at work I get crap (try "Campagnolo Delta" to see what I mean - 400-odd results as it drops the Delta part from the search).

  • Stopping using Internet Explorer would be a good start!

    http://en.http://www.mozilla.com/en/firefox/

  • Isn't this because it's using the 'component finder' tool?
if you look at the top-left it is written: 'home- buy - bicycle parts' instead of: 'home - buy - sporting goods - cycling - bike parts'
You could try searching from the home location again?

Me too - I think it's IE that's the problem cos I've got Firefox at home and ebay's old school and all is good. Unfortunately I can't change to Firefox at work which means I'll have to use my free time to search ebay :-(

It's not that i'm resistant to change, I just don't want anything to be different.

Nah - it's totally changed the way it's all structured from home page down. Seems to be some kind of second rate, iTunes inspird shite but makes it hard to do proper searches, as andyp says. Can't do searches within item descriptions and in sub categories nearly as easily.

  • on my computer when i log in i get the old school version, i have had my account for a few years, when my g/f logs in she gets the new style one, she also has a choice of which view she wants, there is a link above the"my ebay" blue bar thingie.....something about changing the look??

It's odd because I don't think it's an IE thing - I'm using Firefox at home (on Apple) and at work (on Microsoft).

It's a royal pain in the arse - how is one meant to feed one's addiction to acquiring bicycle parts?!?

  • buy stuff off me ;)

  • what do you have

  • help! new fixie here, a wee slip of a girl looking for either a second hand bike or a frame to start a build from...am having problems finding anything that would do (i'm 5'4" so would need around 20" i guess). apparently i should be keeping an eye out for a vintage 10spd? so if anyone sees anything or has any bright ideas i'd be so happy if you could give me a shout, i really want to have something to ride by the summer

I've had my account for years though and it just happened a couple of days ago. While searching for your link (which i couldnlt find), i found the ebay discussion boards where there a re a bunch of people complaining about the new search system. One guy suggested:

you clear your cookies and then log back in to ebay eventually you should be able to go back to the normal search.

or check out what the url is, the test is shop.ebay.co.uk

    just change that to http://www.ebay.co.uk

It seems like they're rolling out these changes to a test audience (who all dislike it). I cleared out my cookies and am back to normal, although it's a pain to have to login in to everything again. I was even moved to go against my natural apathy and email ebay about this - it's annoying when something simple and which works gets replaced by something complicated which doesn't. Just like fixed gears and SS...
