  • 1st of all, you shouldn't post you own sales into Classifieds, it's against the rules.
And yes, we cherish "our" rules, it's the only thing that separates us from the rest of the bays around the world. This is also not ebay, nor do we follow any of it's rules.
Besides, Dutch Cheese lives in the Netherlands, and he's a probably more into Gazelles that you think, just a wild guess, I could be wrong.
    Hope I could help.

    good lord!

  • reading these listings i'm realising just how much bullsh1t there is in ebay bike listings...its sad.

  • nuknow, got that.
however I have not seen rule saying you cannot post you own listing - my mistake. but as you can see I was not hiding it neither.

well I have done as much research on that bike as I could. I didnt bullshit anyone as what is in the listing it is all I know - unless you or someone else can prove otherwise. that would make me change listing to improve it.
if not to make such comments only proves ignorance and nothing else - but I can also be wrong here.

  • didnt mean to upset anyone posting my own listing.

  • Anyone bidding on this?

Pinarello Track Pursuit Frame + Carbon Fork(Fixed Gear)

  • tomder,
welcome to the forum. here are the few rules to follow.

    rules

see the bottom post about classifieds.

the other major rule that people will jump on is posting your own bike in bike porn thread.

as far as your gazelle there are a few knowledgeable dutch people on the forum and they can help out with authenticating your bike. see the gazelle thread gazelle thread

    nuknow, got that.

  • loafheads I do admit that I didnt make that far with reading.
Nor I post my listing to 'sell' but because I like that bike and think it is beautiful.

thanks for that anyway. learned in a hard way ;-)

  • coventry eagle, not sure 'best' is a right word - I would say 'with deepest pocket' ;-)
    good luck anyway

  • Why the love for hyperlinking profiles?

  • no love, another mistake. oh well.
    copy/paste does hyperlink too.

  • The Tommasini is very nice, but the seller has a couple of those and trying to sell via Ebay.
Listed already several times on Ebay and in this thread as well.
These frames hardly sell, because of the high reserve.

    About your Gazelle.
I'm pretty sure that the frame number you read is not correct.
Probably not your mistake. Lots of times, these numbers are unclear. Sometimes, the Gazelle numbering is inconsistent.
Could the number be 3288xxx ?

    Then:

In 71/72 there were no short Campagnolo dropouts and there was no Gazelle AB
    Both were introduced around 1980.
By the paint and decal style, I would say that your frame is from 2nd half of the 80s.
Maybe it's a little bit older, but repainted later.

*The routing was a design influence by the TVM team mechanics. They complained about complications internal routing gave when doing quick maintenance.

*This frame is pre-TVM, so, how could they influence this?
Internal routing was exclusively for AA-Special and AA-Super. Matter of lobour cost on frame price. External routing was also done on A and AA frames from the 70s. I fully agree that non-internal routing is better, but not with the too narrow cable guides of this AB. Very hard to get a standard 5mm brake cable through. Besides that, they corrode too easlily. And water stays between outer cable and top tube.

Anyway. Your Gazelle is nice. Good luck with selling it.

  • Dutch Cheese,
I have checked serial several times - seems 288XXX and cannot see anything else. Will have a look today again.
I was not sure about the age of it because I was under impression this Shimano 600 isnt that old but... you have to rely on something.

Information about TVM team I have found on internet for the frame from early 80 with along toptube cable routing mentioning that they tried top toptube too and were not happy. Might be wrong.

Thanks for the info anyway. Appreciate that. Once I will have some hard evidence I will make listing more accurate but for now I will only add that it might be not 100% right.
