  • Nice 28 hole clinchers are a bit of a pain to locate.

  • because fixed gear is soooo 2009

  • look closely you'll see that was a suicide hub.

  • ^ yeah, my guess as well

  • and actually not only suicide hub, but also it's a HF road hub converted to "track" - auction didn't have any pics from other side of the hub, where it would show.

  • look closely you'll see that was a suicide hub.

    10 points.
Having looked again it does actually say strada. However, I'd say it's far from "**Ideal Finish Touch to your CLASSIC City Bike- Courier/ Fix_Fixie_Fixed Project!"

    The nob.

  • what? did it ever say "pista" or "strada" on the hub? i thought it was only cranks. my hubs only have "record" on them...

It's obviously a subtle* way of saying road.

    *Hoodwinking.

sweeeeeeeeeettttttttt............ It's things like this that make me wish I had the cash for a fleet of bikes and the space to keep them and the time to ride them all. But I don't. So I weep.

  • that is f*@KIng cool ^^^

    Hell fuckin' yeah!

  • That frame is useless without the original bars.. unless you know someone who can make new ones.

  • get a job.

    +2 :{)

  • can anybody guess why the rear hub didnt sell. thanks

I bought the front hub but realised the rear was 'fishy'. I think the shiny lockring was probably glued on. Next!

Mercian vintage path frame price collapse shocker

Glad that I see that when the auction is over.

that was the idea, to keep everyone safe from trouble ;)

really? mounts are actually around 26.0mm clamp diameter, so i don't see how modern bulhorns can not be used?..

  • At work so can't see all the pictures on the auction page - suspect the problem is whether you'd be able to bend them through the double clamps (unless they open up completely)?

  • Hinged clamps, so no problem.
Otherwise you could have used Giant handlebars that you can split. Made to accomodate Grip Shift. Not a good idea though.
I can image a solution with Cinelli Spinacci parts. Also pretty weak. Best is to buy complete with bars, but also these were custom made. So, in fact it's a shit bike.

  • So, in fact it's a shit bike.

what?! jumping to conclusions, aren't we? :)
clamps open up completely, also i believe bars were bent in a shape, similar to classic bullhorns like cinelli la84 and/or 3ttt moser, so all's not lost.
but i guess you're right, need to buy with the bar
