I am looking to buy a bike. I do not know much about bikes, but would quite like one that costs under £250, is comfortable and goes quite fast.
You guys seem to know a lot about bikes- please could I ask for some help/guidance?
From reading a little on this forum, I suspect that I am going to be shunned, but, are these bikes any good!?!?:

Could you expand a little please?
I have no idea why they wouldn't be and seem to be reasonably priced?

what is the name on the frame?
now stick it into google or use the cunting search also add unipak
now is it any good?

they are a bunch of cheap components with, crappy tires, chainsets, brakes, etc. If you want pre made, please look at fuji, charge, etc. Anyway this is not the place to discuss this. Look up create/unipack/unicack etc

don't launch into getting anything too soon
i've been reading up/posting on this forum for like 2 months before doing anything towards getting my first fixed gear
i know you'll be itching to get onto a nice new bike but it is definitely worth doing a lot of research first so that you get something that is right for you and will last a while -

Awesome Bianchi, bargain at £550 ono
Hold on, says restored 'as a Bianchi', could mean anything. Still a nice frame with quality components for a good price.

your better of buying a cheap road bike and converting to fixed / singlespeed. u can get an old road / race bike for under 100 on ebay and theres plenty of help telling you how to convert it. you also learn more about how the bike works which can help you to build up more bikes.

You should easily be able to get a single speed for around a £100, I've been looking for 1 month now, and there are loads on gumtree. Go secondhand to start with, and if you like then upgrade later, which is what I've done. I have a much better idea of what I want now, 4 weeks ago I was itching to spend up to the limit on my cycle to work scheme. Now I've worked out that I can get just as good a bike for maybe third, poss 50% less and will be just as good
