Erin: Shamals are nice. There is a reason they are propular, and why the were used on so many pro riders bikes in the 90s. They feel very fast, and are very nicely built.

Almost on it.
Almost meaning the bike is still no where near being built. -

what in particular do you find objectionable? i was thinking of buying one, for trendite purposes, principally
They look nice, but are not particularly stiff considering they are deep section. I was a bit disappointed to be honest, as I coveted some for a while. (for sprinting, on the track) A fine wheel, but tend to be rather too expensive these days due to the hipster factor. For my purposes, there are better wheels around for similar or less money.

You can pick up the similar but much cheaper Vento's for not a lot sometimes I have had a pair on my tt bike since 94.I put a crack in a rim but had it repaired by an engineer who drilled a tiny stopper either side of the crack and then filled and dressed it back until you would not know it was there. All for free as he did it in works time at Westland Helicopters

I dont think this is 531 I think it's a Dawes Lightning frame and that 531 sticker looks like it has been stuck on afterwards
-
• #22313
I have reported this to ebay as misleading
-
• #22314
you reported that just because the sticker look like it's sticked on?!
-
• #22315
No because the colour scheme alerted me to it being fake because its green sunburst which is the colour scheme of a mid 80s Dawes Lightning.I thought I might stop someone on here buying a not 531 frame for to much money

Cyclefit are selling some really cheap ladies Sidis on Ebay (Zeta sz 4 £20) and a couple of pairs of Rocket 7s for £75.
Got myself a Regal Ti off them for £25 too.

that 531 sticker is much older than the frame, as edric says the frame is of one period, and the sticker's from somewhere else in time and space all together...

it's not mid 80s judging by the decals. the dawes lightning was blue/light blue sunburst by '83, '84, the decals were the lower case ones and the Lightning wasn't 531 as far as i remember.. the decals on this look more like late 70s / early 80s.. not sure about the 531 bit. At any rate it seems someone's on their way to paying too much for a fairly run of the mill frame.
They are not midnight matt black, won't match his blacker than black
