no expert but you can return goods within 28 days of purchase for a full, or slighty reduced refund. sometimes, depending on product wear is accountable and a minimal percentage is taken off the full amount. Just contact them and explain, they'll offer you the difference one way or another. if not there are cnuts, and you can then write a letter to make it formal and you'll be right i'm sure.

Checked the PX T&Cs and they state the returns up to 28 days later for any reason so I should be set either way as i haven't built it or anything. Thanks all for the advice.

I think its an Alsop beam tried out on triathlon bikes in the 90s.Some bicycles have no seat tube at all, and attach the saddle to a cantilevered beam, which points back from a point just behind the head tube. This beam may be made flexible, to provide a very good suspension system with no moving parts. Although this system goes back at least to the 1940s, when there was an Italian bike with a spring-steel beam, it didn't really catch on until the 1990's when the Softride (originally called "Alsop") beam was introduced. This composite beam is sort of like a mini-diving board, and provides excellent rider comfort.

Nasty dropouts though
^ can anyone point me at something that refers to the 28 days thing? is that some kind of retail/sales obligation buried in small print?
I'm still within my 'cooling off' period so in theory could just send it back and get other half to buy one on on her card with the discount. Don't want to balls it up and end up with two frames of course :(
