I don't seem to be able to quote.. anyway, with this frame mentioned previously, does anyone have any idea how straightforward it would be to fix the cracked seat tube? Is it just a case of welding the crack then reaming the seat tube to the correct diameter? Any idea of the cost?
If its from JF Wilson contact them and see if its theres and how much they would charge to repair it. There in Sheffield by the way.

Mercian fix that sort of thing for about £70. I think. I seem to remember Gizmond doing something similar a while back.
He answered all my questions too. Woot.
Its weird what some people don't include in the auction information. Surely he would have thought that the manufacturer might be useful info? Its a big frame though. 64cm effective TT. Means that TT is way too long...

Harry who is the manufacturer?

you sure you mean effective? judging by the pic the wheelbase is too short for a 64 cm effective TT imo.

Rik: JF Wilson.
All the answers to all mi questions are now on the page. He added the questions. Here the link to them:
http://contact.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ShowAllQuestions&ShowASQAlways=1&frm=284&iid=250556067960&ssPageName=PageAskSellerQuestion_VI&redirect=0&requested=bedslaveseems like a pleasent enough chap.
He says the effective TT is 62 (not 64 as I mentioned). Its not impossible given how steep the heatube angle is. Makes it a pretty huge frame. And the stresses on the TT aren't going to be good, especially on a SLX frame.

"" Mercian fix that sort of thing for about £70. I think. I seem to remember Gizmond doing something similar a while back.""
I can mig weld the crack up and the finish it back to baby smooth again if need be, as the paint is yet to be applied, it doesn't seem to be terribly misshapen and looks a rather straightforward repair.
It would be less than seventy pounds, and I am in hackney, failing that Vaz also does repairs to frames if you are in 'the' London.
