  • More trouble than they're worth..

The top one isn't really 'rare', there are lots of Raleigh racers around. LOTS. Wheel size 26.125 (?), you might find trouble finding tyres but I am not sure ..

I'd say £30-40 for the top one, maybe double for the bottom one (mainly cos its fixed) (£$€)

  • A very nice Raleigh track frame up now.
But £650 seems a lot of cash for it, no?

definitely not, this is a beautiful bike and the best that raleigh had on offer!!

  • can someone out bid me on this please, i forgot that i bid on it and now no-ones else has bid.

  • you'll get outbid. Otherwise it's a pretty fair price.

  • What did you bid DB? My bro would like this

£650 for frame and forks - that is steep

  • TobyOneKanobe What did you bid DB? My bro would like this

    £181

Jos, i'd be happy to pay that, but with 4 complete bikes, my 1950 holdsworth track frame at mercian getting resprayed + a lot of vintage parts for that, 1 track frame on it's way + full campag groupset and then another mercian i'm building up for someone + plus bits for that. i gotta call it quits at some point.

  • i'd say!!!!! :) OK, i'll put an offer in over yours but it's a nice bike, it will prolly go over that i reckon.... fingers crossed!

  • well, thats what i thought, but with 9h left you would of thought there to be a bid or two. maybe the 27" wheels are putting people off.

  • Can anyone recommend me some ebay sniping software? Missed out again last night due to a crashing internet cafe pc and someone bidding 10p more than me in the last two minutes. Grrr.

  • i don't use sniping software, just bid as much as you think is fair and if you get out-bid cop it on the chin. plenty more crap in the sea!

  • Yup, very true. And I've just found a better / more suitable frame, the one last night was a complete bike and that's never quite so much fun. However booze + ebay = bad things. I don't even *remember *bidding on this but apparently I did. it should come with glo sticks.

  • Ha! That raleigh keeps doing the rounds... one day he might sell it. I offered him £350 for it, but he say 'no'.

I should sell mine now if people are paying £650 for a frameset!!! Fkn hell!! :D

  • photoben Ha! That raleigh keeps doing the rounds... one day he might sell it. I offered him £350 for it, but he say 'no'.

Are you sure it's the same one? Hilary Stone bought the one that started at £500 and was around £330 BIN. It was in far worse condition than this one.

  • TobyOneKanobe i'd say!!!!! :) OK, i'll put an offer in over yours but it's a nice bike, it will prolly go over that i reckon.... fingers crossed!

Why don;t you see if dogs wins it and then buy it from him, instead of outbidding him?

That's a very good point..... but, what if i don't bid and someone else does and they win it for £182? I'd pay over that for it i think as it's quite a nice bike..... can't DB retract, or is it too late?

  • dogsballs well, thats what i thought, but with 9h left you would of thought there to be a bid or two. maybe the 27" wheels are putting people off.

would that really put people off? It's only what, 4-5mm difference to slap 700's on it, isn't it?

  • The last time the Raleigh appeared on eBay:

    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=260178088508

    It makes you wonder.

  • It makes me wonder if the dude will succeed in selling the frame alone for what he paid for the whole bike.
The guy I bought mine off bought a condor.. hehe.. sucker. :)

for most people getting 27" tyres is hard. also seems this past week a few things have gone for low prices, must be the holidays. doesn't bother me. i would retract if there was a mistake or something, but with no reason opens a can of worms and don't want it to go on my feedback thing.

  • Poor Raleigh... it just wants to be loved... not shipped around the country for profit...
