TobyOneKanobe
tomasito cheap Viscount for converting
I've chatted to this bloke and am going to look at it after work... seems cheap and will make an ideal winter ss hack i reckon... what y'all reckon, good idea or a no go?
Check the BB when you look at it. Some of the Viscounts used a proprietary BB which had cartridge bearings pressed into the BB shell and a BB spindle with no taper and funny locking bits for the cranks. They are pretty much impossible to replace (although someone on NYCbikes website (I think) used a phil BB spindle as a replacement) and will be a huge hassle if you want to change the cranks or the BB length. Google for more info

if anyone wins this can they let me know, i think it might be the same make as a frame i've got, the guy only built 12. Seems a bit dodge though, no email back from him and he list nothing in detail.

asm Is it bad that I like that blue softride?
if you're a triathledork, no.
if you're not, yes. -

There's nothing bad about liking it, but the bike itself is a tad self-conscious don't you think? It doesn't seem to lend itself to fixed-gear riding, so using one fixed is more statement than function. But there's a lot of that about too.

It looks like it needs at least 1 arrospok. I noticed there is one floating round the 'bay at the moment. Not sure why but i find something about that bike appealing.
Good point... i'll nick a magnet off my fridge :)
The deathfork, IIRC, was only an issue on the Aerospace bikes. The crown on these was always cast, but the later ones had steel reinforcement. The replacement forks were all chrome, so an old Aerospace with painted forks is a risky purchase.
This doesn't look like an Aerospace, the spec is too humble.
