sorry - too late!

yeah those pics are from all over the place - very sketchy
heard of a scam a year or so ago that was similar - but was for cars - seller would turn up to find no car and then be removed of any funds or marched to cashpoint at knifepoint - scary shit

seen this sort of thing before....prob stolen the pics from listings over last few weeks/months....usually involve payments to new paypal accounts or Western Union so the cash payment bit looks very worrying......
anyone fancy placing some £1m bids to stop someone genuinely winning and getting duffed/mugged/worse???

Looks pretty good to me, what do those more experienced (i.e. most of you) than me think?

1) Make a fresh ebay account or five
2) Bid and win all the bikes.
3) Agree each 'person' to meet somewhere random.
4) Don't meet them.
5) You are a keyboard vigilante, and will not be stabbed.

and the surly....
Surly Long Haul Trucker touring bike on Flickr - Photo Sharing!Definitley look like a "turn up and get mugged at knife point" scam rather than stolen bikes.
Gonna report them to ebay before anyone gets ripped off.

What is even stranger is the seller is selling SIM cards. Whilst I am not sure if that is legal, you'd be stupid to buy a used SIM as it could have been used by criminals or stolen.

Also sim cards are free most of the time anyway! so why would you buy on ebay
I sent an email yesterday asking to view a bike, no answer from him though...

C'mon guys its a total scam, there are no bikes and for the ones "my mate" has bid on there certainly won't be any money or meetings. Lets just let it quietly fizzle out, and ultimately they may be deterred from bothering.

I'll repost my post on the stolen thread
Ebay won't do anything unless a police officer sends in a data protection form
Then ebay release the sellers email to the police who go round and fuck him up/ politely tak the bikes off him.
As I reckon this is a turn up + be mugged at knifepoint, you should call the met's NON emergency line and report it using the ebay seller's id and suggest you think people are going to be put in danger.
that is the only way to stop this person.Ebay may take up to 14 days! to take any action.
I'm quite aware of theire rules and regs thanks to my recent recovery of my bike.
The police were so helpful, eBay were a pile of crap.
Just goes to point out, if you're nice to someone, they'll be nice back. -

Well done mate, but he has 6 bikes up now, you should bid on all of them.
Ps one of the bikes has reached £720 and another is at £102...

Bikes and SIM cards, easiest things to nick! WELLLL dodge
Look at his name too. He'll be some dodgy little estate kid from Green Lanes or Hackney, turn up to buy it and his 'crew' will jump out with bats and knives

Maybe just ask the "seller' lots of questions? How many spokes do the wheels have? Does the rear wheel have the same number of spokes as the front? Could he check the tyre pressures?
Fug it, I'm gonna ask a couple now.

Hi Guys, The Rock Lobster pic is mine, and it was stolen last year. I have informed the police (I had a crime number already) and given them the BB Serial # and they say they will get on it.
Looks dodgy either way as if he had the bikes why not take pics of the actual ones, and he must have something as it is cash on collection!
Will post here if the police have any luck, but only 12hrs until the listings end.

Also, thanks DanDNA for the comment on my Flickr page for the photo. I have removed it for now just in case it warns the guy off.

I dont think those are the bikes he's selling - look at the [ictures in all the different locations... also I know a bit about pics and know that there's some good lighting happening on some of those photos... wierd.
