Bidding High Early: Great for Sellers, Bad for Buyers
Up to £200, with 7 bids already. How much is this thing worth?
Ask WInspar? They're looking after about 6 Alin versions of a similar grass polo bike*.
I mean how much is that smile worth?

Ha! I don't think so, they're on long term loan from their original owner...
(oh and cheers for the 531 t-shirt, Ross loved it, but is going to have to pile on a few pounds to make it fit). -

recent polo stories / articles in the commuter free papers should help to boost the price. with that frame you can tick two boxes and go straight to uni glo for your garms to match. its a win win.

Why didn't this frame sell? Any ideas?
I would imagine this sort of thing would go down quite well in London?seller ended auction early. doesn't mean it didn't sell.

Kwantes (as far as I know):
KLAAS Kwantes (not Kim as the ad says), born 1930 in Amsterdam. Was racer in the 50's, even 3 years as a pro
Used to be a mechanic, with track racing as speciality. I guess until approx. 20 years ago.
There were (mainly track and stayer/motorpaced/demi-fond) frames with his name on it.
Kwantes was the mechanic of the Dutch national track team and, later, (a.o.) Peter Pieters.
Pieters, the former coach of the Dutch national team, stopped after the W.C. in Poland, was a good track racer in the late 70's and 80's and early 90's, and won the classic road race Paris-Tours.
Daughter Willy Kwantes was also a good racer.A pity the frameset isn't available anymore and a bit too small for me. Otherwise I would have tried to get in back to NL.
