Hey, i've found this, pretty cheap, look any good? worth it for a beginner?http://www.gumtree.com/london/86/35407386.html
just went to see this bike. the kid looks dodgy but nice, hard to tell if it's stolen. nice components. turbo saddle, cinelli bar and stem. wheels untrue tough. dirty harry and some shiny brake. i offered him 130 but he refused.
i offered my regal and 20 quid for the turbo but he refused. it's a special edition, i think. well, i i guess it's pretty good for a first fixie. -

first thing i did was to offer him 130. if he would sell it then yeah, sure thing it was nicked. i wouldn't buy it but i have to admit i would have swapped the saddles.
if anyone is interested just go there and talk to him. the kid knows a bit about fixed wheel bikes but not necessarily his one. maybe he did not stole it but almost certain someone did. -

A ebay advice query to you peeps:
I bought a bike with buy it now, the desrcription wasnt detailed but clearly suggested a quality put together bike with good bits and the picture showed this too. (dura-ace/ultegra parts/mavic wheels/cinelli bars& stem etc.)
It got delivered in person but I never got a chance to properly check the bike as I had a terrible fever (which I informed the seller before hand)
The bike turned out to have an ancient mavic sprint wheel with badly worn rim, nothing like the flashy newish open4cd on the front with ultegra hub.
I didnt kick up a fuss because I had no energy!
Well now its beena few weeks and I finally got to check the bike over, I took the wheel out as I was going to stick another rim on. There was loads of fresh grease around the hub (no dirt on it yet and oozing out like a fresh over genorous grease packing.) I pull on the axle and it came away in my hand! It was clear snapped in two! And clearly the seller knew this as they had just packed it with grease.
I told the seller, took them a few days to reply. But they basically said " the bike is fine to ride, Ive ridden it lots of times as it is" wtf?
I would never ever stick on such a crappy unmatching rear wheel and not mention it, because I know it would be 'cheating' the buyer. But to sell a bike with a broken axle and call it fine to ride?
Am I in the right here for being severely pissed off? Id be ok, but I cant find a decent wheel to stick on the bike, so I cant ride it!

Have you already given feedback?
Someone might be more qualified about the Trades Desc. Act, or ebay lore re damaged goods? Or if you get more annoyed, out the seller?
Sadly with BIN, caveat emptor tends to stop me buying.

You need to start a paypal dispute ASAP, I think you only have 40 days from purchase to take this option.
Explain everything clearly and provide photos and any other details asked for.
Paypal will try to resolve by way of a partial refund (that is the easiest method for them).
Decide how much you would have paid for the bike with a duff wheel and ask for the difference by way of a refund.
I have initiated 6 paypal disputes for badly described goods over the last 3 years and won them all.
If you are in the right and are reasonable Paypal will back you all the way.Toodle pip

if all else fails
a seller sold me a fixed build once, I later learned it was dangerous to cycle. I got a solicitor letter to order my money back, paypal were not interested. The letter also threatened legal action due to my injuries which were caused by poor wheel build.
It worked, but I was lucky I think. Knowingly selling dangerous equipment is a crime. so get your money back and publish sellers name where you can. You will not be sued for slander. -
