Hi,
Finally got round to buying a fixie after going through so many other bikes. Built up a nice little BLB.
Hopefully I'll get to see some other peeps around London. -
• #5828
Did BLB sell you the bike fixed without foot retention or single speed without a rear brake?
-

Tbh it came to me second hand without pedals.
I've rode bmx for years and am used to the feel of flats under my feet. It's just a fun bike to hack around on.

The bike actually came to me with a long ITM stem, 48-16 transmission, Nitto bull bars and a god awful battered seat, fizik I think.
I did try it with spd at first but just didn't feel right for some reason. Same with the stretched out position. I'm no racer so changed it up for a more relaxed ride, shorter stem, 44t ring and risers with the flats. Makes for a nice cruiser. -

Well, some Velcro straps for your pedals would improve your bike control and safety. This also gives the added bonus of being able to skid. Which in turn saves embarrassment if someone shouts a DAS at you.
You will learn lots of interesting stuff here. ;)

Post your bike in the bike porn thread, you will then be given lots of advice.

Welcome
Just to add to what others said, some form of foot retention wether it be clipless pedals or straps is completely necessary to have proper control, especially on a fixed gear bike without a rear brake. -

^^Sounds yummy.

Hello! Long time lurker & first time poster. Currently missing my fixe (new baby+small flat+unreasonably tidy wife=bike eviction) so am living vicariously through lfgss! My guilty secret is a brompton (2speed) under the bed. Cheers Doug.

Seems to post loads of mediocre stuff on the bumtree with the occasional gem. Would hate to support a fence though.

^ gumtree even... although bumtree's probably just as good a name.

Welcome!
I don't use Gumtree too often so I can't attest to the seller's worth I'm afraid.
I would recommend hanging out in the Classifieds of this here forum and maybe posting a "Wanted" Ad if you're after something specific. You can get all sorts of bargains and of course you're giving your money to a forum member and keeping it in the community.
