Don't buy a charge bike!
Build one from scratch :) get a decent frame for as cheap as possible and go from there!

Why not a charge? It's a good bike. And if you know nothing of building one up, it can be quite daunting. I think a charge is a good wholesome bike to buy whole!

There's not too much wrong with a Charge. But you'd get a much better bike second hand from here.

If fielden wants any advice on building a bike there are so many on here that can help!
Surely we can encourage someone to build one for SOOO much cheaper and learn as he/she goes along!
