  • Morning all. Like gherkins, hate plastic wallets, cant do hand stands.

    Dan.

  • Morning Dan and welcome, I can also not do hand stands (other than in a swimming pool, but that is cheating).

  • Im not sure if that passes as a legit hand stand. Not that im up on my hand stand knowledge. Just saying.

  • Hey all.. New guy here, from the Netherlands.
Been riding bikes forever. Over 30 years now. Mostly BMX, and later on mountainbikes too.
Been collecting some cool old roadbike stuff. Gonna put something together soon, when I have gathered enough parts. Looking for a real track bike too. We have a small velodrome nearby, and I'd like to give that a shot. Should be fun to haul ass on a bike like that in the streets also. I also love the look of a single speed track bikes, which was also a big input to start building. The simplicity of these bikes gives 'em the cleanest and best look of almost any bike.
    Cheers,

    -Maurice

  • Hi
I decided to invest my cycle2work voucher on a fixed gear.
Sheldon Brown and the bill to get cassette, chain and crank replaced on my rat-peugeot commuter are responsible for my interest.
I really dig this forum (even though the more I read the less I know what to fucking buy as a first fg)

    Holla at the Cambridge posse!

  • Ditto this!

  • Hey, i've bee fixing up an old racer all summer, its getting there just keeps falling apart. Though you guys have an awesome for sale section. Getting first track bike next week yay.

  • hi everyone,
i'm a bike builder in one of the evans stores, crosscountry rider, used to be racing but not this season, witch is a shame, so i'll be back. i just use singlespeeds as a utility, and i'm not even too much into fixed unless i'll move to the track, witch is unlikely at best. my main bike is a wenson master frame with lots of neat bits on it, and it's never as light as i want it to. i have plenty of other bikes too, but none of them are fixed.

  • Hi everyone. Have been lurking on the forum for some time - thought I should register. This website has been an invaluable resource as well as a source of inspiration for the last year or so. Have been riding my SS for a year or so in London as a daily commuter. Looking forward to starting my first project bike.

  • HI everyone.
I'm quite new to this forum.
Got knocked off my Steamroller last week by a motorist who broke my frame and killed my back wheel but not a scratch on me...
Good news was he came round that night and paid in full for a new frame and back wheel!
Now looking forward to building up my bike again.

  • Evening all. I'm Foday, been lurking for a while but finally decided to join. :D

  • afternoon - been lurking for a few weeks but finally got the balls to sign up. Got my first SS a few weeks ago after the MTB got stolen. Can't believe it took so long to be a convert. It's a Ridgeback Solo and will be getting changed to fixed pretty soon. Commute is Walthamstow to Hammersmith. anyone do anything on that route?

  • Hello all,

Another long-time lurker, my joining ambitions were, until recently, thwarted by the firewall at the office. What the office firewall couldn't stop me doing was booting up Paint and drawing my own collision. It's been sat on my desktop for weeks, so I'm off to post that now.

  • Hi everyone,
Did my fix wheel apprenticeship racing at Paddington (anyone else here race there?),still use a 66"fix as my hack bike, not that fast thses days, but I can still to a mean track stand.
