Hey ya'll,
New to all this, finally got around to stripping the gear shifts and derailluers off my Giant MB, so apparently I'm allowed to call myself a single-speeder. Will make the holy transition to fixed at some point, I promise!
My usual commute takes me from the lovely north-eastern suburb (Olympic/Westfield building site) of Stratford to Old Street. Anyone else share a similar route? Can't say I see many single-speeders/fixed out my end of the woods.
I ride out that way every day and there are few singlespeeds (and I'm guilty of being on gears), lots of idiot nodders though making my commute way too stressful!

to be specific, i, well, we, were employed by a relatively unknown space research facility in nevada. not long had we been working there did our scientists discover a strange ray of energy being emitted from a moon of neptune. we were sent on a space mission to investigate, where I came in contact with the beam of energy by way of accident and subsequently was split into 3 elements of my personality: Nathan, Jarret, and Abigail. We have lived as 3 different people since the event and have not had any significant issues. please ask if you have more questions, i am more than happy to answer them.

I just I'd drop by and start my time here by saying hello. I've been a lurker for sometime and figured it was about time I got involved and said hello. I have followed the advice of many posts on here and now hope to pass on some pearls of my own.
Hello everyone

Hi,
Been checking the website out for the last couple weeks and now have a hankering for building my own fixed machine. Got two frames to have a crack at and haven't got a clue where to start...
My name is John. I'm Welsh, slightly ginger, have a ginger beard and own a couple of chequered shirts.
I once built and Airfix model as a child with the sole intention of shooting it with a pellet gun. Without going into detail, I spent the next three days unable to open my right eye and model remained intact. This story did NOT involve mastubation.

I've been pilfering advice/amusement from the forum for eons now, I suppose it's time I said hello. Hello. I ride a fuji track (08), though only the frame/chainset remain from original incarnation. I like riding it very much. It makes me like London more. I used to ride mountain bikes. I have an Orange Gringo (99) in my cellar that I can't get rid of. We feed him once a week. I'm an illustrator, freelance. That is all. Oh yeah - my username is derived from the fact that last year, going at about 30k down earls court rd, my bars snapped in half. Fucked my wrist, still get these twinges every now and then. LBS fitted wrong bar size to the stem I think.
My favourite font is DIN. My favourite meal is dinner. Which means lunch to yooz, cos I'm from Manchester, innit. -

Lurker turned poster here.
New to this biking malarkey, bought a 2nd hand Langster 2010 off ebay, road it to work and back freewheel for a week (Hackney to West End), drops made an old neck injury flare up so swapped them for risers and made it fixed (nothing to do with neck that last bit) and am now on day four of fixed gear riding. Thighs are getting a little sore so looking forward to the weekend.
Can't believe I've got a tube and bus to work for the last 10 years, the bike is so much easier. Admittedly current weather probably helps and may change my tune come autumn, let alone winter.

Cracking new line from Paul Smith. Inspired by the fixie/single speed revoulution, called 531! **As in the Reynolds classic 531 frame. **

Hey!
Great to find this welcome thread. I just got back from working as a courier in Sydney, and am after more of the same here in London. As usual, it's the quietest time of the year, but if anyone knows of any upcoming vacancies, I'd be stoked to hear from you. Also would be cool to meet some of the bike world here too.. -

Hm, seems I'm exactly the same as most posters in this thread; ex-lurker, recently got a FG/SS after years of MTBs and BMXs, and like seemingly most of them I also got a Langster. I work just by Borough market so I see loads of people on single-speeds/fixies (especially around the Monmouth coffee joint) and a few in LFGSS threads. Safe.
YOYOYOYOYO!
Just wanted to say wusup to my new community! I am havent bought my fixie yet but planning to get a Scrambler V2 made by eighthinch. Just waiting for them to get more stock in so I can nab one. I am a vespa scooter boy at heart but I have been recently banned. So I'm planning to get one of these badboys!
