Hello, I joined a while ago but disappeared, I am back once again!
I said before I was about to build up an old peugeout into a fixie but never got round to it but I am determined to do it now! This weekend going down to the local bike shop - Crazy Horse Bikes in Tooting, anyone know if they will be able to help me out?
Have a read of this https://www.lfgss.com/thread7634.html
I'm not sure if they stock much ss/fixed specific stuff, but the chap in there is nice by all accounts. I've only ever borrowed a track pump from him, after a puncture.
Also read sheldon. -

Some of the bigger bike shops like Cycle Surgery have a price match where you can get all of the bits they have at the best price you can find anywhere on the net (as long as it is in stock on the webpage that you find). This coupled with the mega-net-tonnnes of information that is just a click away is a pretty heady combo for getting amoungst the diy bike-tastic freako-posibilidades for producing THE sick bike of your dreams. Maybe this is a better option than hoping that your lbs will do it for you? Though, maybe it is not.
Opinions?

Hi, I'm in London. Basically I'm too lazy to use gears or maintain them but I'm pleased to be jumping on a bandwagon all the same.
I've been reading my way through the site and thought it was time to post something.

Cheers guys. I fear I've undone any good work by (a) pissing off people on the vegan thread and (b) asking for purchasing advice. But I'll always treasure my worry-free first 5 minutes on this forum.

hahahaha - youll fit in fine as long as you dont intentially wind ppl up by trolling and dont over react if someone says something strong or offensive and youll be fine!

Hallo everyone, wanted to introduce myself to the forum!
Just picked up my first "proper" frameset, and first bike in about 10 years since the usual typical BMXs and horrifically heavy mountain bikes.
I think I've got a LOT to learn about this whole thing, so bear with me, but I've been reading for a few weeks, gleaning information and the like :)
Intending to build this up so I can ponce around Cambridge on it. Going to run s/s first, maybe graduating to fixed in a couple months or so once I'm a bit fitter, and don't suck at riding a bike!
Bit rusty, but it should be sandblasted and in primer by the weekend, ready for a nice shade of hearing aid beige!
Cheers

Ojects in the welcome thread? Welcome Object!
It was accidental, I was riding so fast on my 167GI fixie brakless, I hopped the kerb (and a granny) to avoid a black(racist)cab and HumongousGitVehicle and was catapulted into this thread as my hipster girljeans legs couldn't stop me because I only had platforms and failed to use straps&atacs with extra SPDs and glue!
