    or
Current Projects - where you can post your SS and frame and what you'd like to do to it or done to it etc. :) Hope that helps?

There's also West and Norths drinks on two different days if you want to meet some of the lfgss kids!

  • Thanks for the friendly welcome, i shall have a look at those links cheers again

  • Hi Mark here, just joined forum after talking to a guy on a pearson yesterday, who recommended it. Have had a fixed on the road, though not always used it! since 1978. As tag hints I ride a 1953 Claud Butler bi-laminated new allrounder. Commute quite a lot on it 25 mile round trip.

  • Hello,
Been reading this forum for a while and decided to get amoungst it. I wanted a project this year and have just finished building my first single speed mtb. It's a Orange P7 and have used it a couple of times already off road - surprised how well it goes.

  • nice bike martindouble, offroad on a fixie sounds like crazy fun!

  • ^what was the Pearson guys name? where did you meet him?

  • Sorry, manners really!!! Hi, welcome..

  • new here. prefer the little kids bike, but as much as i love commuting on it, it makes me stupid in the head and i invariably go too fast and get crazy sweat patch. besides been riding my mates fixie and its rather pleasant.currently in the process of making a beater that runs nice but looks like shite and cost next to nothing. here for buys, sells and advice.

  • Hi, been lurking on the forums for some time now but thought I better introduce myself. My names Jamie and I'm living up in Holloway. Me and my flatmate will be doing the daily commute into central London down Camden rd into central London. Say hi if you see us, I'm on my Cinelli Mash and he rides a Dolon Track Champion marked with Graham Weigh.

  • Hello! Mid 40's bloke from the East Mids and probably having a mid life crisis. I do a lot of off roading for fun, and commute the 6 miles to work on a Giant mtb, all be it with Schwalbe Hurricanes on. After having a go on a colleagues Trek District, and realising that I no longer touch the gear leavers on the commute, I'm thinking of going single speed- I'm considering getting a Specialized Globe San Francisco via the work Cycle To Work Scheme, but might go for the 3 speed as I still can't get my head around having no gears! Is someone going to talk me out of it?

  • "A 3-speed will make you look old and uncool to us young, trendy Londoners."

    Did that do the trick?

  • "A 3-speed will make you look old and uncool to us young, trendy Londoners."

    Did that do the trick?

Well I am old and uncool, so it's not a convincing argument! I'm pretty much set on getting a San Francisco, just need nudging away from the 3 speed.

  • "I have heard that the people at the Middle Age Centre laugh at guys, who ride 3-speeds instead of fixed."

    How's that?

  • hi!

  • hey, ive been reading fgss for about a year, and ive never posted anything...thought it was time i pulled my head out of the sand and said hello!!!

also i recently bought a velocity aerohead wheel in black (machined) with white spokes and a black blb hub.

im riding no back back brake and really want to an unmachined rear wheel with simmilar coulours?? preferebaly a b43 or h plus... anyone interested in a swap/part ex or just sell me a rear wheel?????

  • hey, I have to post three times before I can start a new thread. I can't find the info that i need anywhere so i'm hoping that one of you can help me, I'm 175cm (5'9ish) and I have a 76cm (30"ish) inside leg, I know that I typically need a 16 inch frame for a mountain bike but i'm a little bit scuppered with all the measurements that road bikes seem to require! I'm really interested in buying one of the advertised bikes on this forum but i'll be damned if i can make sense of the long list of diverse statistics on offer. Can someone please offer a n00b some assistance?
