Hi Guys
I'm new to the forum although I have been lurking quietly for a week or so. I'll more than likely be asking lots of stupid questions so please bear with me ! I got myself a cheap second hand Bianchi Pista (feel free to ridicule - seems this isn't a popular bike with some forum members) and will slowly be replacing the stock parts as and when I can afford to. I went down this route as I needed a bike immediately and didn't have the time or funds to start a custom build from scratch. (plus I got it cheap off my uncle which was a deciding factor !) My logic here being that I have something rideable that I can modify as I go on. I made the first step in customizing it yesterday by stripping off the top coat / bianchi decals and after a few hours work and lots of burns on my hands, in my humble opinion the frame now looks the nuts! I wouldn't have had a clue about doing this but found plenty of advice on the forum so thanks a lot for that. Next step will be changing the bars, pedals, etc then I'll be moving onto hubs, rims, tyres, cranks, blah blah blah.
I'll post some pics in the near future once I've done a bit more to it but for now there doesn't seem much point.

Cool man, fixed can be really fun for tricks too, mine gets used for everything, tricks/transport you name it, but its maybe a little "bulky" compared to most peoples fixies lol ;)
Really looking forward to getting a 24 inch bike though, takes me back to my bmx days :) -

Hey People
Thought i would let myself be known.
Im Jordan from North London
Used to ride BMX alot when i was young, rode for quite a while then just grew out of it. stopped riding for a couple of years until very recently when i decided to buy a fixed gear bike.
i bought a Fuji Track 2009, rode half the way home brakeless in the rain (shitting it) few near injury experiences mainly due to stupid drivers but still it was an experience to say the least, will definitely be buying a front brake asap before taking it on the road again.
But yeah looking forward to joining you guys on a ride some time soon.
