Strootman is indeed a big loss for the WC and also for Roma's race for second place. He's been quite something for them this year. To play that well in such an unstable team and his first outside the Dutch league was a big surprise to most. It also means that playing time for Sneijder will be very limited at the WC. There's some options out there but most likely it'll end up being Nigel de Jong who's going to switch sides in midfield. It's going to be their weakest link I reckon. van Gaal is pretty much set on the fact that Daley Blind will be his LB even though he would have been the obvious choice to replace Strootman. The three friendlies are going to be quite important now. More so after what happened in France last week.
I'm guessing Utd are pressing the panic button now as well. Allegedly his transfer there was pretty much a done deal.
Wonder how the Spurs fans feel about the van Gaal/Sherwood saga. Levy is showing his true colours right now. What a twerp. I thought he was alright but I get the feeling he's lost the plot.
Van Gaal will not get on with Levy and there will be fireworks at some stage.
