Apologies for bargain basement HTC effects, the picture was too dark.
The 42cm (40cm ctc) Piega bars I bought from Wiggle are...
...compacts!

Congrats Tommmmmmmm, this is a momentous day.

Speech! Speech!

Cool!
So should I understand that the 42cm Piegas (or shorter) are compacts and above 42 ergos? Cause in that case I´ll order a 40cm one right now.

We can only hope madman, we can only hope.

I think maybe all of the Piegas are now compact rather than ergo. I would order 44cm and confirm that if I were you, Wiggle are good at returns anyway.

What Tommmmm said... we don't have enough data to describe a rule yet. Just buy and return if necessary.
Granted this is what I should have done but couldn't be bothered in the end despite saying I would.

Group Piega order across the range to ensure consistency and provide valuable data for future generations, ratifying what will be called the Compact Code?
-
• #311
Or just call Wiggle. The reason I risked it was that I'd read a customer review saying that Wiggle told them all Piegas were now compact. But they might still have stock of the old ones.

According to wiggle (after a few emails back and forth and me convincing them to actually check there stock, and not just telling me what the website says) I have confirmation that the 44cm Deda Piegas are compact!

I´ve just read this in the question and answers section of the Piegas in Wiggle:
Bar geometry clarification:
Q: A number of reviews mention that the bars shipped have a compact round bend (this is actually what I am looking for) rather than the anatomic bend pictured.
The deda website is of no help in this as it only displays the same model pictured by Wiggle.
Could you please clarify the actual bend geometry of the bar?
A1 (Wiggle user): Wiggle have since contacted me and confirmed that the shape of the current bend on the Piega has indeed been "softened and swept to feature a more curved appearance" compared to the older angular anatomic bend.
I bought a set and can further confirm that the shape is IDENTICAL to the Deda RHM 02 bars that I also own. The Piegas are a great option if you want to fit a shorter reach, modern curve into a 26.0 mm quill stem.
A2 (Wiggle Staff): The bars should be supplied in an anatomic shape.
This is so fucking confusing.

Have you had a look at the questions and answers for the Bontragers on Evans? http://www.evanscycles.com/products/bontrager/2013-ssr-vc-r-road-260mm-handlebars-ec044750#answers
"what are grooves?" "outside to outside" (it's not), 460mm? Where do they get these idiots?

This is the email I received last night 13/03/2014 , From James @ wiggle customer service.
Hello Grant
Thank you for your email.
I have checked the stock in this case and I can confirm that these are indeed the compact shape in this 44cm size.
I apologise for the confusion in this case, please let me know if I can be of any more help.
So there you go. that was a few emails after he told me they were the anatomic shape as stated on the website. I then emailed him again and asked if he could please have a look for me and he came back with the above email.
I will be ordering a set of 42cm piegas for my track bike and a set of 44cms for my roadie. I will report back.
Anyone have a picture of Deda Piegas with dura ace 7700 levers? Please? Cheers

I think that's older Piega version though. Someone needs to measure a drop on a new version.
Remember that if you fit old style aero brake levers there is less to rest your hand on than if using STI's (because they are longer). So factor that in when looking at the amount of reach each bar has.
