I am thinking maybe I should forget about having a 2nd cat, Patch is sooooo unfriendly to other cats who come into her (my) garden... Today she saw 1 that merely crossed the line, she shot through the flap, and chased that poor thing all the way round the garden.... and her tail was like 3 times larger than normal... maybe Patch is a fucking bitch...
That is such a good thing though. My cat is way too friendly with two other cats and regularly invites them in for a luxury dinner of expensive vet cat food. It started with just the one, then he got a 'brother' who also learnt how to force his way through a magnetic cat flap. They also take it in turns to look out the front window and guard their territory.
It is quite funny though when the cat they can't stand comes stalking by... three cats, huddled inside the front door, yowling at the stranger.
I do think that if you got a kitten and introduced it slowly, (cover it with Patch's favourite blanket etc, so it got her scent), it might integrate better than an adult cat.
