Yo yo!
Thanks for all the support and awesome messages! As always LPC love is strong.
Thought I'd send a wee update as things are progressing awesomely here. So since my last message I've had another heart biopsy which again shows 0% rejection and that my heart has settled into a good rhytmn. I'm needle free and they've removed my temp pace maker, I'm in my own cloths and super comfortable, it's all good shit. Docs are very happy and as far as they are concerned if the next biopsy is good medically I can be discharged. But really I'm in the hands of the physios...
I was bed ridden and asleep for so long I've lost 13k and all in muscle. I've started learning how to walk again which is a super surreal experience. Physio's are great though, get 1 on 1 sessions to help me with personal goals and go to gym sessions in the afternoon with other transplant patients to work on general post opp fitness. They got me on a sitting cycling machine today which was awesome fun and it's nice to know that I might not be able to walk properly but my riding muscles seem to still be there. We also practiced getting in and out of cars so that I can go to the pub on Sunday (my birthday) for celebration lunch with the family.Best news is that I've been moved off the ward and into a self contained flat with Alice until the end of my rehab. We've got a sweet little apartment 200m from the ward with our own bedroom, living room, kitchen and bathroom. The idea is that it's like a half way house, transitioning us ready to go home, familiarise and educate us on the extensive range of drugs I'll be on and get us used to life style changes. More than anything it's simply nice to have a bit of normality and privacy.
As I said before the care here is incredible and the thought put in to how they can best support us has always been evident but now more than ever.
Thanks again for all the messages. It's great hearing from people and although my response might be slow it's great keeping in touch. I'll keep the updates coming but I'm really looking forward to seeing everyone in Bristol if not before.
Anyone wants to see some gnarly scar pictures just say...
Big love
Aidan x

I once got a free wheel off Aidan and when I mentioned it was a bit jankey he told me to be grateful or fuck off back to paddy land.
