The velcro-only fastening on the DZR Jetlags is pretty bad. My girlfriend has a pair that are about 6 months old. Now the velcro just gives way with any hard pull up when riding fixed; her foot often comes right out of the shoe! Unlike the other horror stories related to DZRs in this thread (including mine), she doesn't ride brakeless.
