So I can be openly racist provided I pretend I'm dumb and apologise later?
This place is not what it used to be.
I think it's quite simple--if he hasn't got it, he will undoubtedly reoffend. If he's just biting his lip being a hypocrite, then he may well snap at some point. I suppose an apology would not be so easy to accept if that happens. If he has got it and learned his lesson, why not unban him?

And of course LFGSS is not what it used to be. Not so much in not making the ban permanent (David has always said that he doesn't like banning people), but also in how the people you're talking about are very young, perhaps school age, certainly younger than the youngest LFGSS members six years ago. We have lots of active members that age now, while many older members have started families. I'm not going to defend the use of 'gay' as a pejorative, but I get the feeling that some of the childish petulance we have got recently is a bit 'not old enough to know better'.

Anyway, I couldn't possibly pass up this opportunity to sound old and patronising, so there you go.
