So its been almost 4 months since my face was planted into a kerb and thought id update on with testing creams/oils.
I've been using bio-oil as much as possible and although the scar has noticeably improved its still pretty horrific. I was hoping it would starting to look mean by now but stubbornly remains bright red.
The most important thing to do is massage the scar frequently but without breaking the skin. Bio-oil is of course good for this but really any moisturizer would do.
While this sometimes feels counterproductive because it makes it look even more red but if the scar is raised and atrophic its the only way to break down the collagen beneath it. The longer you leave it the harder it becomes to remove.
