Was half watching the man city barca game. Barca didn't seem to produce much threat until the second half, there were moments of magic on the edge of the box as they probed for an opening, and once man city got flustered in defence and launched the ball out of the box, barca would regain possession and apply more pressure.
Think Kompany got it right in that Man City gave them too much respect in the early going, too much space and not closing down quickly enough. Penalty was iffy, Dimichelis tackles him just outside the box, but its pretty close, at first look I thought it was a penalty. Maybe defenders need to be told, if its a choice between conceding a goal, and making a tackle which 9/10 means a penalty and a red card, take conceding a goal.
City with ten men were more attacking, and aggressive, but they were always likely to lose the 2nd goal. Still think Barca would be better, have more options with an out and out striker, but what do I know. And Negredo needed to be better, to hold the ball, link play, to provide relief for his team...
