I used my Note on 3 to tether with whilst at my parents- day after day of solid use, not a peep from 3 about it.
I don't believe it was mentioned in the contract as a discrete service.
This Christmas just past I used my iPad pretty much exclusively however- which has a 3 SIM in it.
