My girlfriend got an M6L last week for commuting which I borrowed yesterday to take to Brighton so I could ride around and watch her do the 1/2 marathon. CSB.
Anyway she got the 6-speed because we live at the top of Streatham, meaning big hills. I couldn't work out for the life of me how the gearing is ordered. Logically I'd expect:
1 – hub gear 1, large cog
2 – hub gear 2, large cog
3 – hub gear 3, large cog
4 – hub gear 1, small cog
5 – hub gear 2, small cog
6 – hub gear 3, small cog
But it felt possibly like it could have been
1 – hub gear 1, large cog
2 – hub gear 1, small cog
3 – hub gear 2, large cog
4 – hub gear 2, small cog
5 – hub gear 3, large cog
6 – hub gear 3, small cog
To be honest I was very tired by that point and I'd had a few pints.
Help?
Loved the Brompton by the way - especially good for taking on the train then taking round a crowed urban area with lots of stops. Possible contender for a future bike.
Question about the 6-speed version.
