You should totally get Mrs Nicazakstan involved in this - it's SUCH a good atmosphere and a perfect first ride for "ooh! I didn't think I could ride that far in one day" type revelation.

Riding in a group on the road will do wonders for her confidence and lots of pub/ice cream type stops and if she does decide it's too much, loads of places you can bail and head for the pub.
