I'm not too sure what his defence is exactly, he seems to believe that he had a right to move forward because the ASL extends only half way across that lane, and that it was my fault for undertaking him there.
Your vid seems pretty conclusive - he crossed a stop line on a red light and caused an accident - so I'd want to say the courts would be bound to side with you.
