    Nice

  • maybe a one-off special for a Mapei-GB rider

I think this is the probable outcome , It is certainly a lovely find & a rare frame set . It would be nice if the factory had some info & even maybe which rider it was built for .
Looking forward to the pics of the build & test ride report !!

  • thanks
i just hope the factory are easy to get an answer from

  • just waiting on a longer stem and new cassette for this

  • Saarf, why didn't you go through with buying the Colnago Pista on kapaza.be?

  • couldn't get any pictures off vendor or get size confermation

I went to pick it up tonight. It's not a Colnago. Has clovers on the lugs, but that's it. Still a nice frame though, very tight clearance. Size is 60 cm CT.

Oh, and the second pair of wheels I got from the seller are also quite nice: https://scontent-b-ams.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-prn1/t1/1723556_10203309517077641_1545964735_n.jpg

  • didn't think it was right, wheels are nice

  • just waiting on a longer stem and new cassette for this

Looks a nice dream & headset is a nice touch
    What wheels are those?

  • just bonty beaters i de stckerd that came with the blue/mapei ish bike above
i have these wh7701's as well

  • Nice

  • thanks, new stem arrived today, and the 7700 'decal' on the crank arms wears out real quick with shoe rub, so i got a fresh crank set cheap

  • Here is Colnago catalog from 1997

  • Cheers. Not seen that one before. But is it 97? There's part of another catalogue on the internet which has a C97 shown, that's missing from here, and it mentions "champion de monde 97" on one page, so I'd say it's 98.

edit. After reading it, and the fact that it refers to the paint as "decor 97", I guess it must be a 97 catalogue.

  • nice , love looking at these old catalogues ;)

  • The C97 catalogue I was on about.

  • Oh wow, that pale yellow C97.

Can you guys help me identify this Colango? It has Gilco tubing and a clover where the seatstay meets the seat tube lug which would make it a Master Superissimo? Under that awful pink powder coat there's a chrome fork.

Here's the rest of the pics - http://flic.kr/s/aHsjUaADKU

  • Looks like a Mexico.

It looks like an Esa Mexico , nice find

  • Thanks, but why does it have a clover on the seat cluster instead of a Colnago pantograph? It was taken from the warehouse of polish cycling federation, so that may be a clue?
Also - any idea how much is it worth? It's too big for me, so I don't need it sitting in my room.

  • I have a Colnago Superissimo from the early 90's with the same detail on the seat cluster.

  • That's why I thought it was superissimo, but I guess my tubes are different? Mine have 6 grooves
