Meh, they both work fine brakeless, just spds are much more reliable in the long term.

I'm not sure, I've gone through 2 or 3 sets of cleat before my springs needed replacing with the times, annoyingly my spuds springs wore out well before the cleats. I just prefer the ride of times anyway because I like how the float feels.
