I take it you've never used a hydro disc?
I have, but would of thought it would be over kill for a road bike.
High end roadies with carbon rims, bit different i know...

Were they made at the Ciocc factory?
-
• #88531
please do!
It's a simple 2.6mi ride one way so nothing too intense really, hence why I like to go fast. Too boring otherwise so why not time trial with a distance like that. I'll take recording this eve.

There are aero levers for hydraulic brakes (magura).

My daily commute, didnt hit the cycle path due to crazy weather, so a bit gutted about the avg speed due to lights. But it paints a picture!

So you hit a peak of 100rpm, and were only over 90rpm for about 10s in total. Hardly a spin fest.

Again not a great run, it's pretty hellish outhere on the south coast. My avg usually climbs into the 20 but aye, I know I still have a long way to go.

Hey, 14mph on a commute is about what I average, with an average of maybe 19-20 on faster rides. I wasn't tryin to call you slow.
-
• #88540
But he'd still be faster if he learned to pedal, especially on a commute type ride. You can get away with mashing at 60rpm on a dragstrip TT course where the only acceleration is at the start and maybe the turn, but around town you really lose time if you can't get back up to speed quickly

Very true.

You guys are too much. A dude posts his bike where he was fucking around with a disk brake and likes it. He has a large gear ratio but also has a brake so who gives a shit, its safe and cetera.
Its probably fun, for 2.5 miles he could ride a unicycle and be fine. Riding fixed with a disc brake sounds cool to me.
You crotchety fuckers should >>>>> to the pants twisted lfgss bike fit thread.

Speaking of disc's can someone reccomend me a good road (short pull) one, i want to keep costs down so mechanical seems to be the way to go, found the avid bb7 and hayes cx-5, that both seem decent, any others?
-
• #88546
BB7. Or any of TRP's new mechanical road discs.
I'd go for TRP Sypre or TRP HY/RD. But BB7s are well cheap, innit.
