A friend of mine went over the bars at the junction between Balls Pond Rd and Southgate road last November. It was dark and the pothole was massive. It was luckily just to the side of the main route, so he didnt end up under a wheel.
Stopped up kerbside to assess the damage (not much thankfully) and a policecar noticed us and asked if he was OK. We pointed out the pothole and went on our way.
2 days later it was filled in. Might be a coincidence, but most probably not. Not too bad, I'd say this time.
