Have you seen Keith Peats latest triumph?
No.
I do not see this as a problem.

...your commonsense should tell you that.
'Commonsense'. The all-purpose justification for the ignorant and self-important.

Unless you are Jeez, who has special common sense.

It stands to reason.

"Post-mortem examinations revealed they all died of asphyxia due to trauma".
-
• #5582
misleading indeed. The title suggests that the company crushed them as punishment for rejecting helmets
-
• #5583
No it doesn't, the title doesn't even mention helmets. Brun's link title is misleading.
Well I am not going to be clicking through any links. This is the helmet thread, I don't want to burden myself with any real facts or data that may get presented.
Anecdotal only please.

Why do most of the cyclists I meet who advocate wearing helmets have no fucking clue as to how to wear one properly?

Fixed to reflect my experience. I'm not sure that inability to use a helmet correctly is particularly prevalent among advocates, but it's rampant among unthinking users.

Today I was working with some professionals within the cycling industry. One of them insisted on having a helmet so a lid was loaned to them. They just plonked it on their head but had no idea of how to adjust the straps or make it fit.

this possibly shows how well designed a helmet is when used correctly
if used incorrectly it may be the same as not wearing one -

It's good that he's taking this line, but I can't help thinking that the analogy doesn't quite work:
Boardman returned to an analogy he has made before, and which even he admits is a bit melodramatic, though it gets the point across
“It’s a bit like saying ‘people are sniping at you going down this street, so put some body armour on,’” he said.
Government encouragement to wear helmets was therefore “a big campaign to get people to wear body armour, by the people who should be stopping the shooting.”
He needs to stress that people aren't sniping--it would be perfectly sensible to put on armour if going down a street covered by snipers.

It'd be more sensible to not go down the street, which is what he's trying to get at. Analogies are rarely perfect, like eating soup out of a hat.

On my commute I find the majority of people wear helmets. If I stop at lights and look around at other riders. The non-helmet wearers are now in a minority in London. Does anyone else find this to be or am I just seeing things? Are there any stats on it?
-
• #5594
Most of the ones without helmets have exploded through lack of safety.
-
• #5595
Anedotally I've noticed the same thing. Hi-viz is also a lot more popular than it used to be.

I'm still around. Maybe not for long then

Can't see how that post answers my question. Are you sure you linked to the right one?
-
• #5600
Yes. The reason why people wear helmets is dangerisation.
It wasn't meant to answer your question about stats, but helmet-wearing rates have been creeping up steadily.
If you want stats, knock yourself out:
nope.
