Interesting, injection systems need power to energise the fuel pump to get pressure in to the fuel rail. Then there is all those lovely sensors that need electrickery to communicate with the ECU, for the ECU to tell the coils to spark ignite the fuel when it gets there. Also unburnt fuel is a bad idea for catalysts converters.
Modern cars now even need to be reprogrammed for a new battery.
