• Ah I really appreciate the offer, seriously! That's the kind of thing that makes me love this forum! :) I've got the option of leaving it at my parents back in Herts if needs be, can also leave it open (weather permitting) and run an extension out of garage to the dehumidifier there. If that's what's gotta be done then I'll leave it there and inconvenience them instead of you.

    What'll happen if I don't dehumidify? Will it kill the car? Bloody love this car and don't want to let it die yet.

    If you can lift the carpets and stick newspaper underneath to collect the water, change the paper regularly. Or go to a petrol station with a hoover and vacuum out as much water as possible.

    But as others said, easier to take the carpets out and maybe wash them to get any standing or smelly water out and then leave to dry some where warm. If there is a sound deadening foam material I'd say just bin and buy some more from an upholster as it seem to either fall apart or trap the smell.
