I believe the bodies that do good should be independent entities, not solely government run
a "cradle to grave " approach to crime also, in that once offenders are incarcerated, they are made to learn/get trade/job skillset, UK has the one of the highest rates of recidivist offending, if the model used in Denmark was implemented, this could help
currently, most prisons are privatized, with "workshops" making plugs or wheel barrow wheels that generates income for the private company, and does nothing for rehabilitation
I read some where or heard, that when private companies put the tender in to build a prison, those successful are given an almost guarantee for the amount of "bums on seats"
any govt. that does this surely has no agenda/capacity to implement socially orientated schemes
