  • For alpha code it looked promising, I'm not getting all excited as most of the other LOTR tie ins have been pants but this one looks like fun with a few new ideas.

  • ..... I'm happy about that though...

    Agreed. It's definitely a compliment.

I guess it all comes down to whether or not you want to play the same game again. Batman was / is awesome but I don't care enough about LOTR to get excited about it.

  • Game's doing some weird sale: http://www.game.co.uk/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/HubArticleView?hubId=280776&articleId=280777&catalogId=10201&langId=44&storeId=10151&cm_sp=home-_-banner-_-bestof2013hourlydeals2

    May be some good deals.

Thinking about getting a new game. Dishonoured looks kinda neat. Also GTAV, but I won't be playing online. Still worth it? Any other thoughts? I rarely buy games (once a year or twice, maybe?) and the games I've enjoyed the most on the 360 are Red Dead Redemption and Deus Ex HR. Thoughts?

  • GTAV was hugely fun in the story mode, even if you don't go online, GTAV have borrowed some featured from Red Dead Redemption which improved it vastly.

Dishonoured is also great, especially if you liked Bioshock.

  • Dishonoured is good yeah

  • I didn't like Bioshock and the steampunk aspect of Dishonoured is the least appealing bit. The atmosphere of the city is the most appealing. Looks awesome.

  • Its a nice environment, and good to explore as there are always multiple ways to get from A - B. I didn't really see it as being steam-punk-y although I guess it is, I really enjoyed playing it again without killing or being seen by anyone

  • I agree, it felt very industrial to be steam punk.

  • Cool

  • I didn't like Bioshock

    Are you on an E?

  • I wish. But you may have solved my boring Friday night problem.

(The Xbox shop at Boxpark didn't have Dishonoured. GTAV was still stupid expensive).

  • It's £30 in CEX, and worth every penneth

  • Dishonored was not my best.
Played a killy-kill massacre run through, then tried a stealth approach, but got bored and traded it.

Bioshock was ok, but didn't finish it.
    Going to DL infinite tonight

  • Dishonored is good, don't bother with the trials expansions but the other ones are meant to be worth it.

That new LOTR is a shameless rip off of Ass's Creed.

  • Been playing Super Mario World 3D on and off since before Xmas... Mindblowing gameplay... Unlocked the later levels yesterday... So hard...

    BTW You're on ignore, Ed...

  • You must be very pleased with yourself Joe.

  • Sorry?

  • I'm playing Ed vs TS. A text based sim
No, actually have just downloaded the new xcom game (to take a break from the punishment of Dark Souls). It's hard

  • XCOM seems fun. From the short video I've seen it seems like Mass Effect but a bit more strategy like, am I correct?

  • started bioshock infinite yesterday, kind of wish it was more of a proper story based shooter where you investigate things and move a bit more freely like in fallout rather than constant wave upon wave of identical enemies as you follow a predetermined path (a la CoD etc).

so far it's not hooked me tbh, and the only reason I'm giving it a proper shake is yahtzee gave it 2013 GotY on zero punctuation.,

  • XCOM seems fun. From the short video I've seen it seems like Mass Effect but a bit more strategy like, am I correct?

Not like mass effect. Pure complex strategy rather than RPG

  • It's good, it's also really annoying if one of your long term guys die. It's really hard to start with but gets easier as it goes on when your guys are all mega tough and have cool powers and big guns.

  • "Welcome to the Steam In-Home Streaming Beta"

    Sweet

  • Gnomoria steam key up for grabs.
